Bday revisited

Hello again, folks.  I was just looking thru the pics bryan took (he reminded me he took these w/one hand while he filmed w/the other--what-a-guy!) of Sam's 1st bday and I chuckled out loud and thought, I should really put them all on the blog.  Not like they charge you for photos or anything!  SoI hope they bring a smile to your faces, too.  He sure enjoyed that sugar.
Bon appetit for WeThree...

Z-man visits

Today we had a short visit from Zachary w/o his big sister Madeline, who had a dental appt.  The boys had loads of fun together--here are a few photos of their classic side-side play:

Both boys, normally one-nappers in the afternoon, were conked out by 11:45.  My anesthesia voice (reading a book to him) sent Z off to la-la land after Sam's bad attitude surfacing more than once was a sleep cue for mommy to put him to bed.

Happy birthday, Samuel!

Mommy decorated her 1st cake since high school/4H days-- a snowman since it's January and the 1st planned date for his bday was snowed out!  Sam had his own cake--same as ours but w/o the cocount.  The sugar rush (his first taste of sugar) kept him up til about 9 or so.  :- )  While these don't show it, he eventually did the traditional cake wearing most 1 yr olds do--cake all over his nice outfit, his face/hands/hair, and even on his sox!

I have a group shot to add but blogspot is having trouble uploading images today so I'll post these and add more later.  See you soon--ttfn, mb for WeThree

Finally--the group shot!

One small step...

...Sam's been wandering around for ages but suddenly, he's walking from one end of the family room to the far end of the kitchen w/o ever taking hold of anything or anyone, doing the Frankenstein, as one friend called it--"arms wavin' in the air like he jus' don't care."  And just in time for my mom to watch him for 2 days so B and I can go to a marriage retreat w/our team related churches.  Poor mom.  :- )

As Bryan put it, wasn't it brilliant foresight that mommy bought that exercise ball knowing Sam wd come along and like to play w/it?  ha!  Sam does love rolling around on this thing--I hold his arms and let him roll over it or bounce him on it.  Our friend Val suggested he might enjoy being bounced on it, like a trampoline w/mommy holding on, so I got it out and boy does he like it!!  I'm always open for suggestions for indoor activities for 1 yr olds...  something other than "take my shoes off so I can eat them" or "climb the couch" or "stuff my hands in the TV equipment."  :- )

And this is game day gear, of course --go Eagles!
As always, thanks for stopping by our pleasant places!  ttfn, mb for WeThree

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Of course it is-- our Lord, Jesus, left all the glories of heaven and came to earth to become like us, to walk this world in a sinless way, to make a way for us sinners to be reconciled w/God. As the angels sang, "glory to God," and so sing WeThree.

But Christmas day this year for the boys in my house was spent mostly bed- or couch-bound, feeling lousy, as I shared in a previous post.  And Sam was just getting over it the following week when he picked up RSV, we think, and we spent 1/2 of NY day in the ER getting nebulizer treatments and steroids and antibiotics for double ear infections--when it rains, as they say....

We are almost all back in shape and mommy thanks God she didn't catch any of these plagues, least not so far.  Here's Sam proudly wearing his Colts jumpsuit--we were so sad they lost to the Chargers last weekend (Sam, grandpa and grandma and mommy were--daddy was soooo happy his Eagles won!)

And wasn't our tree pretty?!  I put dried hydrangeas on it, given to me by a friend from my mom's church--doubt they'll make it to next yr.  Hope she'll donate some in 09!  Just had to share some shots of it...

You can tell in these pics of Sam and Bryan at my mom's Dec 30 (our Christmas w/them) that Sam's still not well--this was the day before he began his downward respiratory spiral!  He's wearing his new bomber jacket aunt Peg gave him, below--sooooo handsome!!

Well.. happy new year, y'all!  Hope you'll come back and check on us again.  Maybe next time I'll have a healthy stretch to report!
