SummerSam and the livin' is easy...

Just had to add this one-- he loves to be "almost naked baby!" :- )
Sam has pretty much mastered sitting up (and spitting up, he's got that down, too). Daddy encourages his crawling, but mommy doesn't! And even w/the disruption of church in the middle of his nap and lunch schedule (as well as meeting loads of new people), he did very well today keeping a good attitude. We knew there was a happy baby locked inside that tense one who arrived here just 11 days ago-- he's popping out all over. God has been gracious to us all, as He always is!

More fun w/Samuel

As the days pass, Samuel becomes happier and more settled, and so do his parents! :- ) Samuel is eating better, sleeping better and playing happier w/us and in his various baby toy things. We see him responding to us more and more each day. He's now giggling at various things we do-- tickling, making goofy faces at him. As one friend said last night and the HUGE shower our church friends threw for us, "once they start laughing, you'll do about anything to get them to do it!" Too true.

Here are a couple of recent photos-- his new exersaucer, which he LOVEs, tks to Sheila P! This morning, reading the funnies w/daddy. And after the morning nap, a little play time w/his new friend, Mackenzie and her mee-mom. You can see they were not at all still, so the photo is quite blurry. hee hee

Life is settling into normal, but there's church tomorrow so "normal" goes out the window, the other moms tell me. :- )

Tks for checking in-- see you in a few days. ttfn, mb for We Three

Week one

Photos in order of appearance are:Sweet Smilin' Sam; the favorite position for sleep and "aunt Lois" and Sam meet!

Well, we've had a crazy week getting to know each other, but have experienced God's grace in many ways. Samuel is happier by the day and seems to be adjusting very well, as well as bonding to us both. We're grateful for vacation time for Bryan that means he can stay at home this whole week and help with the transitioning season.
Samuel (at just over 5 mos) is quite alert, active and able! He holds what we call the Superman pose (on his belly, holds his arms and legs out straight) for long minutes, just because he can. :- ) He rolls back and forth, jumps like a madman in his jumping stationery seat (borrowed from Julie, TYVM!), and can sit alone for brief periods-- a few mins.
Already he is scootching across the family room floor, military style. He has slept thru the night on 2 out of 5 nights. This morning, he woke at 3:30AM and again at 6, but talked himself back to sleep w/o mommy and daddy having to go in and check on him. Mommy was basically awake from 3:30 on, wondering if he got back to sleep ok, so she's quite weary right now, but not Sam. He's downstairs entertaining his dad. Course, he's had 2 long naps today--Sam, not daddy! :- )
We'll add a few more photos for those of you hungry for such things. Keep checking back-- I'll try to update weekly, at least!
Thanks for sharing in our joy-- ttfn, mb, for We Three
