(This is just Sam, getting into trouble--climbing on his wheeled conveyance to get up on kitchen chairs--sheesh!)
It's been 20 days since last I wrote on here--again, how sorry I am to let this thing go for so long. But I'm sure all of you were busy this past month, too, so hopefully you all can forgive me. :- )
Lessee... Dec 9th we had a fun little visit from our neighbors around the corner. Becky and her sister Betsy and her mum, Edie, came to play w/Sam and have tea w/Sam's mom. Becky just loves Sam to pieces. She's so good w/him--in a few years she'll be old enough to babysit and we are all excited about that! And shown w/her mum, Betsy is learning to knit--clever girl.
Then we went to our church's small group and ministry leader's dinner party--a dress-up affair w/let's Make a Deal theme. here are just a few of the very innovative costumes. Sam's "Tia" Donna, who watches him when I work now and then, is pictured w/her hubby (above) --she came as a student and he came as nutty professor. I think she's so pretty, even dressed up as a schoolgirl in uniform! Sam LOVES his Tia...
Also present at the party were crayola crayons, a dinner setting and too many others to show here-- we went as the haves and have nots. I wore 1/2 signs all over my shirt (halves) and Bryan had knots tied to his and in his pocket--he'd draw them out of his pocket and say "I have these..." (have knots) when folks would ask what we were. Goofy, but easy.
And recently, we watched little Mackenzie who's about 4 mos older than Sam, for an evening. These are a few of my fav photos of them together. They get along great!
Here he's opening a gift from his aunt Nan--a big soft bear-- he loves bears! This was the day of the annual cookie bake-off at my mom's. Following photo is of mom, Megan, Aunt Pam and me w/Sam (AND Beau, the dog) in front of mom's tree after baking, I dunno, maybe a ga-jillion cookies?! hee hee
Here we are Christmas Eve--just 2 days after Sam got the stomach virus that's been whipping thru every family I know lately. ugh... (I'm snapping my fingers to try to get Sam to look ahead.)
And Christmas day for us was rather dreary as Bryan got the plague, too... here they are lying on the couch. We didn't get to go to my mom's for the day, as planned--my poor aunt Peg flew up from Fla to see us, too. We never laid eyes on her. All of us were quite disappointed, so sad.... But kids get sick--this is all part of Christmas w/children, I hear! Sam was unusually sleepy and laid back--we were grateful for that, at least. :- )
Fortunately, mommy didn't get it (least not yet) and neither did Bryan's folks, Ron and Sandi, who came up from GA on Christmas day and stayed til Mon night. We took a photo of us all w/birthday hats on since they can't be here for his 1st bday party. This was a tough photo to get as Sam was way scootchy--it was well after his bedtime.
So that's about it for us for now--thanks for stopping by and I hope you all had a merry Christmas, remembering always our reason for celebrating--the birth of Jesus!
ttfn, mb for WeThree
