3 yrs old!

Sam turned 3!

Here he is coming into the living room to find his new (to him)

drum set!!

He knows what to do with them, for sure. :- ) Played his drums straight for 2 hrs before church (we celebrated his bday on Sunday) and then every chance he got for a total of 5 hrs the first day. He's got a blister on his hand! Hasn't played near as much since that 1st day.

He has to wear headphones when playing--our friend Craig, the drum teacher, says it's a must. (And daddy agrees.) Heck, anyone in the same room w/him should wear ear protection!

He got to blow out candles about 4 times over the course of a few days-- loves singing happy birthday and blowing out candles. (Don't they all?!) This was special birthday breakfast--sweet rolls by Pillsbury.

After we had dinner together, the family sang happy birthday again and Sam got to blow out candles on his (requested) baseball cake.

Mommy needed help from Honsy's across the street to ice this baby...

Waiting patiently...

Opening presents... a ukelele from aunt Lois! He was thrilled.

Toddler brain-quest from uncle Tom...

Uncle Tom always has a penknife on hand-- helping to cut open the box for Sam--a firetruck, helicopter and other rescue squad toys from aunt Pam!We had a very cold stretch of weather--in the teens--followed by a "balmy" 28 degrees. I sent Sam and Zachary out to play before the next snowstorm hit. Such good buddies and so nice to have them just down the street.

#6? snowstorm, in the morning... just a few inches, then rain, then the big blast.
